The story

Named by a count, for the woman he loved.

In 1802 a bottling house was built over a spring in the village of Bodoc, eleven kilometres north of Sfântu Gheorghe, on the left bank of the Olt. Its first tenant, Count György József, named the spring after his fiancée, Mathild, and carried its bottles with him wherever he travelled.

The innkeepers of Vienna soon noticed what the count already knew: their white wine tasted best when lengthened with Mathild. For decades the spring belonged jointly to nine surrounding villages, and every villager had free access to it one day a week.

The spring fell silent in 1964. In 2018 it was reopened and the Mathild name returned to glass, bottled once again at the source, the way it was meant to be.

The water

Rare by nature. Untouched by design.

Mathild is a naturally carbonated, strongly mineralised water, rich in natural bicarbonate. Its minerals are gathered slowly from deep Carpathian rock, which is why the taste is distinctive: round, saline, softly mineral, with a fine natural sparkle.

At the source it is drawn and bottled without storage tanks. Each 330 ml bottle is filled to the brim so that almost no air remains, keeping the natural carbon dioxide where it belongs. Natural iron may settle as a fine sediment; this is a sign of its origin, not a defect.

Every expression comes in a single format: a 330 ml glass bottle, the measure of one generous glass. Final bottle design and GCC labelling are under development.

Naturally sparkling · medium carbonation

The classic. A round bicarbonate character and a fine, persistent bead. Made for the table and for long, slow dinners.

Mathild FeLiSi

Naturally sparkling · iron-bearing

The most concentrated expression, with naturally occurring iron and a deeper mineral body. Shake gently before serving to lift the natural sediment.

Bodoc

Lively · higher carbonation

The bright one. A livelier sparkle that loves mixology, mocktails and long refreshing serves.

A 330 ml bottle pours one full glass. No half-empty bottles going flat, no waste, and every guest receives the water exactly as it left the spring. It is the most honest way to serve a naturally sparkling water.

Bottled natural mineral water is a regulated product in the UAE. This is the path we follow before the first bottle is offered.

    Official recognition of the natural mineral water in its country of origin, and the full analytical file.

    Independent testing

    Analysis by an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory against UAE.S GSO 987, the Gulf regulation for bottled natural mineral water.

    Registration and labels

    Arabic and English labels, product registration in the national ZAD system and with ADAFSA in Abu Dhabi.

    Conformity mark

    Emirates Quality Mark certification through a body notified by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology.
